Thoughtful Wind
Development For
Chautauqua County

Bedrock Project Flower Logos-Finals-white2.png

Harnessing wind in smaller targeted areas to better integrate into the region while accelerating the cost-effective, American made energy.

County

The Bedrock Renewables

Approach to Siting

Project sites are carefully chosen and located

near existing electricity infrastructure where they

can best access the grid.

We take into consideration the area’s wind resources

and potential environmental impacts, knowing we

must find landowners who want to participate in the project.

A PARTNERSHIP WITH

LOCAL LANDOWNERS

We work with private landowners to utilize fractions

of their property for our projects, benefiting them

economically while still allowing for nearly

unencumbered use of their property.

How Wind
Turbines
Work

How Wind Turbines Work

Wind turbine generators work by converting the kinetic energy from wind into electricity. Wind spins the blades of the turbine, which are connected to a rotor and a main shaft. This shaft turns a generator that produces electricity through electromagnetic induction.

Control systems adjust the blades' angle and the turbine's direction to optimize performance and protect against high winds. The generated electricity is transmitted down the tower and sent to the electrical grid for distribution, providing a clean and renewable source of electricity.

Cost Effective and Convenient

Wind turbine energy is considered an

affordable form of energy generation.

Buttercup

Wind Project

Our Buttercup Wind project,
near Sherman and North Harmony, New York will help provide roughly 50MW of electricity, enough to power 12,000 homes for an entire year.

Increasing Local Resiliency with

American Made Energy

Wind_300x.png

The county’s

geography, with open land and proximity to

Lake Erie, contributes to its windy conditions, making it ideal for wind energy development.

Wind energy provides reliable clean energy for rural communities, improving their energy independence.

from these

projects can be

used to meet seasonal energy demands associated

with the region.

Decommissioning

Decommissioning
and Restoring
the Project Site

After operation, each site is restored and available for future use as the landowner sees fit. A dedicated decommissioning plan is created during development to ensure restoration of the land and responsible recycling and disposal of materials.

A letter of credit will be posted prior to the start of construction

to ensure funds are available for decommissioning.

Winds of Economic Improvement

Wind energy can be a powerful economic driver for its host

communities, creating jobs in construction, maintenance and operations while generating additional revenue through land leases and taxes. By investing in wind energy, the county can attract new industry and infrastructure development, stimulating the local economy.
